Ignite chance?

I'm trying a hit based avatar of fire build, and I'm trying to see how much ignite chance I need. The HUGE hits always ignite it seems, but not, for instance, my earthquake. Any ideas?

Are you using elemental focus support by any chance?

I need to find this stat too.. No Luck...

Ignite is trash, unless you’re using Hammer of the Gods.

i think its quite convoluted and weird now. its something like monsters having an ailment threshold and you get a 1% chance to ignite them per X amount of their ailment threshold the direct damage of the hit that is potentially causing the ignite does.

so to get 100% ignite chance your hits damage has to be in a certain ratio to the monsters ailemtn threshold?

i dont even tbh, its something like that or maybe i just made that up, im playing an ignite build and i have no idea. i guess increased chance to ignite stats then act like a multiplier in this formula?





i dunno what the idea is here. maybe this idea that you either do hit damage or the hit does almost nothing and all the damage is the resulting dot was not the way they wanted skills to feel?

i really dont know the thinking here and honestly ive not experimented with my character much.

atm i just specced just about ever fire and ignite node i could find, used a ton of ignite gems and general damage buffers on all the fire spells in the book and so far ignite seems like absolute fking trash. i wouldnt put my name to that judgement yet because ive not learned the proper maths and really gone to town testing and theory diving ignite, ive just been using incinerate cause it works for now with the tree i have.


what i was hoping to have is something that felt like an ignite prolif elementalist and for sure taking all the fire and ignite shit on the tree and using the ignite gems with any fire spell in the game does not result in that, thats for sure.
