Bosses have way to much health
Like the title says, bosses have simply too much health.
There is no fun in kiting 10 minutes around a boss and maybe do it again if you die. You are just wasting time here for the player and do not respect their time. JUST MAKE A NORMAL MODE THAT IS EASIER AND ENEMIES HAVE 30% LESS HP AND DO 30% LESS DAMAGE!!! The 30% less damage is because we need to get one shot less, especially since face-tanking anything is near impossible for most of the game and because at endgame dying is so punishing that being constantly one shot makes the game unplayable!!! |

In fact they don't have enough health... I know you won't accept that but HP is not an issue at all for bosses. They have too little if many builds can one shot them.
Step 1 is to self reflect.

Every time I've run into a boss that seemed to be way too spongy, I went away, farmed some better gear, improved my damage output, and then came back. It's worked every time. I know that GGG said that it should be possible to beat all the bosses with skill, and some skill is required, but they are also gear checks.

Boss is taking 10 minutes = your build is to blame.

Weird, I have had the opposite experience. There are so many builds that kill bosses in less than 30sec or even one-shot them. Once I discovered Perfect Strike on my warrior most boss fights became trivial and I wished they had 3x as much health so I could enjoy the fights more.

The boss fights would be so much more exciting and impactful if they weren't "hold you primary attack skill for 40 minute till it dies." The boss fight become.... boring. Even though the action and such is there and you have to dodge... it really fast turns into a tedious drawn out slob of reputation.
Every phase you go like "oh this new mechanic is so cool" but then you do 10 minutes, that one mechanic over and over and over again it becomes "well, here we go again dodging that full arena AoE hearing the same voice lines for the 50th time, only 5 phases to go after it." And I am 6 levels above the area level, have all the equipment of my level, have all the abilities leveled up to maximum i can right now, etc. So the only way the boss fights become interesting, is if I grind 3 days to get so overpowered with doubling my level and such, that I can take it down in 15 minutes instead of the usual 40. So please, repeat after me. Long drawn out boss fights, are not difficult. There is no skill required to do the thing you normally do in half a minute, but now do exactly the same thing for 40 minutes. It becomes tedious and boring. OP if it makes you feel better I saw mention about certain bosses mistakenly having 2x the health and that is getting corrected this weeks patch.
Dont give up. I wont say GIT GUD I will say learn builds. I was thinkin the boss fights were unfair too until I did aome research. Game was much easier after. |

Disable all +1 nodes in the boss talent tree and you should be good. Each +1 increase boss HP by about 100% of base HP so +5 is pretty much 5 times more HP. Also avoid stacking enfeeble/resist/HP mods on maps.
