Jankyness in POE 2
I am playing POE2 for about 30 hours and I am starting to notice some jankyness that I think can easily be addressed:
1. First would be the movement when using mouse + keyboard is a direct nerf to your character as it never stops when attacking and moves in random directions sometimes, even making me go in some boss AOE sometimes. I mean the amount of skill required to play the game with mouse + keyboard vs WASD movement is in my opinion not really acceptable. Also, pressing shift everytime is also not really too fun, when you also need to spam dodge in boss figts. My suggestion would be to give the option to have the exact mouse + keyboard movement that we have in POE2, where the character stops in the exact moment the attacks. Sure, it will still be a nerf, in the sense that you will not be able to move your character, but I think it will be less of a nerf than having your character move randomly sometimes. 2. Second would having two auto-attacks instead of one. This is super annoying with the nmercenary, which will need to load the bolt first and then auto attack. What I am thinking is to have a single auto-attack skill that switches up once you press x, similar to how your other loadout switches, like for example the number of bolts for the merncenary. This hasn't been fixed yet, so I am posting my comment from another thread, with the same issue, hope it gets fixed. Happens even if you hover over items, which becomes ridiculous in maps. To be more specific: Character completely stops attacking when using attack on place(holding shift), using a skill, while my cursor is hovering an item, therefore if I am attacking monsters and randomly hover my cursor over an dropped item on the ground(item name), my character completely stops attacking. This happens with other non-enemy objects too as others mentioned. |

" if you stand in place and attack a monster, then aim at a chest, it should attack the chest, yes. on the other hand, poe 2 is a full controller optimised game, kb/mouse seems to be on legacy support. joysticks can only target highlightable objects cause they can only point into a certain direction. if the object doesn't support the skill you press, it's just not activated or stopps. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

" It doesn't. The character stops all actions, items, chests, NPCs, and even dialog boxes in trials, if you ever accidentally hover your cursor over these, the character just stops, and doesn't attack or move. |

There is an option in the settings menu under "Game"
Set key pick up to either bound or highlighted key, personally i used highlighted what this does is that it wont try and pick up items as you click them This way your character wont stop attacking and try to pick up the items instead. Setting this to use highlight key makes it so you have to alt+click Bound key just uses whatever you bind it to really Hope this helps |
