My personal feedback on Witch

This is my current feedback on the Witch character as I mostly played it exclusively as summoner type characters are my favorite to play, in fact I'd say the only reason I even gave POE 2 a try is because it had them. These are subjective and based just on my own experience playing.

Aesthetic/theme:

I like the look of the character but I feel like so far the clothing has been very one-note, a lot of the clothes I've worn and picked up as well as scepters and the like are very uniform and boring, mostly brown and tan colors. I'm honestly shocked there doesn't appear to be much black or deep red stuff out there or anything, or purples even. The clothing is very nicely modeled and looks neat but the colors are so drab.

I also definitely love the personality she has, it's not often you get a player character who clearly is not just evil, but also pragmatic and competitive even toward other evil characters.

Overall, the various skeletons are boring, I genuinely couldn't even tell some of them apart as the majority have very minor visual differences. Personally I think since the witch isn't explicitly a classic necromancer and the character herself shows obvious interest in many other forms of creatures, she should not be limited to just zombies and skeletons and should be able to summon some more diverse looking stuff. As a summoner main in other games, a HUGE draw for me at least is not just effectiveness of building both my character and the minions to grow stronger, but in the minions looking very cool themselves while doing it.

If you asked me regarding visuals I'd suggest trying to swap them over to these other creature models, though overall this is based solely on what is available in game now that I've seen:

Replace warrior with current brute
Give archers hooded coats, probably act 2/desert themed
Replace frost mage with Hag model.
Replace storm mage with a blue serpent clan or tomb shrieker
Replace reaver with the big "vultures" from Deshar or knight-gaunt
Replace cleric with scaled down version of the water goddess
Not sure exactly on arsonists, maybe make them a bit more demonic like with horns and vibrant clothes, or more draconic in skull structure?
Replace brute with Blackjaw like model
Replace hellhound with a scaled down Candlemass. Would be fitting as the Witch says herself she wants to summon that someday. Plus, it looks way cooler and more overtly demonic and unique making the aspect of ascending and getting it feel more prestigious.

Flavor wise, feel like maybe Witch's spells and fire should have its color changed to green/teal or black + white to make them stand apart from Sorc's more natural looking fire spells.

Mechanics/skills:

Corpse targeting spells go through the animation and cost mana even if there's no corpses around, seems bad that it isn't just disabled unless there's actually something there.

Spirit granting items are far too rare, it's practically mandatory to the witch and any class that makes extensive use of it, but it's entirely RNG if anything will even have it at all outside some uniques. I'd suggest either automatically putting spirit on all gear but at lower and scaling amounts with gear level, or making it something that can be manually added with some currency or w/e. or have it available per level in small amounts at milestones, like + an extra 5 every 20 levels.

Unearth seems kind of worthless and falls off fast, should probably make it spawn more per cast, and make the spawned minions permanent but non reviving and deal higher damage but keep them frail.

Arsonists feel the best overall and synergize well, I'd say they don't need to be changed at all, but that others need love.

Skeleton Cleric possibly needs a redo in how it behaves so it stays glued to the player or at a distance while casting, the way it works now it runs in to near melee range to heal and dies a lot.

Most minions can't seem to hold aggro and bosses ignore them usually. For skeleton warriors maybe give them the ability to perfectly guard and do big retaliation/counter attacks to avoid damage and hold aggro? Overall they just become totally worthless and have no utility it seems.

Archers are nice early in but fall off quickly, should maybe have higher attack rate and armor penetration by default, as well as a backward leap out of danger/increased dodge. Arsonists have a very good mostly aoe plus single target dps function, I think archers to compare should be much better at single target and maybe have some form of silence/blind/enemy action interrupt function as a normal skill.

Reavers I feel like would be much more worthwhile if they cost more to use and had a limit, but could buff every other pet instead of just themselves.

The two mages feel okay, but more as a supplement/support to the other types.

Brutes seem to be in a good place overall.

Essence drain seems just okay but has absolutely horrendous tracking and frequently fails to hit where I try to aim it.

Contagion is one of my favorite spells but it feels like it falls off and also has issues hitting targets at times, the visual feedback for infection is slightly weak until you get the spread mechanic to land where its more noticeable.

Soul offering seems very weak especially for something that sacrifices a minion and lasts only 4 seconds and buffs only the player.

Bone spike similarly, also seems good in concept but very weak in practice, maybe set instead to absorb an infinite number of damage until it runs out and give it a long cooldown instead.

Profane Ritual seems incredibly weak and only useful for the charge, there's no good reason otherwise to take it instead of corpse detonation which makes it feel redundant.

Hexblast, for as much setup as it needs, seems underwhelming and not really worth it to me.

Dark Effigy seems like it literally does nothing, or the damage is really inconsequential.

Overall, spells alone feel kind of weakish while properly built minions feel good but can use improvement to encourage more build/specialization diversity over using a ton of one type of minion.
