Ultimatum Trial Softlock

When I went to try the second round for a level 40 ultimatum, one of the switches to raise/lower the platforms became stuck and made trial progression impossible. See image below for what I'm talking about.

There were two in the main arena, one of which could raise a platform and lower another as supposedly intended. But the second one, shown in the image, would be highlighted and my character would do the animation of pulling it when clicked, but the lever itself wouldn't move and nothing else would happen.

I went up and down the elevator shown next to the switch, and afterward found the switch wouldn't even highlight anymore like it became a part of the ground, and I couldn't click on it anymore. There was nothing to do. Since I couldn't portal or spawn at checkpoint, I thankfully had the laser trap to kill myself on, otherwise I don't know how I would get out of the trial.
