the state of fire spells and ignite
for context im a level 76 infernalist, my build is all around doing fire spells, at some point i came to realize that my ignites literally do 0 damage because of the following reasons:
A- I have infernal hound that ignites everything (which doesn't contribute to cast on ignite for some unknown reason) and his ignite scales with minion life.. B- most if not all fire spells are many small hits, not one BIG hit to scale the ignite damage.. the only real viable ignite builds are with strength skills that do big hits.. another criticism i have for fire spells is that literally ALL fire spells are just fireballs in different shapes and forms which SUCKS, I can play lets see... fire ball.. fire BOLT .. fire sphere... fire balls from the sky... you get the point. the one and only VIABLE and GOOD build is fireball + wildshards but this DEPENDS on a 20% chance to proc it and rest of the time you spend doing 0 damage hoping it will proc. PLEASE GGG give us more variety of fire spells to use. Last bumped on Dec 26, 2024, 8:13:43 AM

Low level sorc here. I wanna be a fire sorc and my problem is that "ignite mechanics" feels like a predefined path to follow.
An example of this is the differentiation between ignite on hit and on... AoE? Making it in fact 2 kind of alignments. This hinder my search for ignite support skills, some usable on "on Hit" skills and some " on AoE?" Whats the point of adding lots of support skills if in the end some are forced to be used on very few pre-selected active skills. Looks like the "on Hit" part was added as a sort of restrain for balancing reason. Atm, for a little sorc, this is the ignite main problem and non sense... the feeling of arbitrary restrictions. But anyway, making an arpg of this scope is hard, so I humbly share some feels. Peace |
