I QUIT

I am almost 45 year old

Poe 2 was something I was waiting for a long time. Apparently I am not in age range you were aiming for. We don't have time to fight 15 min to get white items for a boss fight. Game feels like ruthless mode from Poe1. I had fucking 1 alch in ****** 50 hours of gameplay. Almost very skill I try was feeling awful and underpowered. All mobs have too high hp and they much faster then you. They never lose aggro and follow you all ***** map.

Finally exhausted and give up hope from game.

What a terrible choice of aiming removing all fun from the game in hopes of becoming a challenging game.

Furthermore you kept nerfing anything worth trying instead of buffing already sh***y damage skills.

Xp gain also sucks.

Disappointed and deleted the game.

you're typing as if they're not going to go back and improve/change anything, my guy it's day 6 on early access. pretty much everything is subject to change.

we haven't even had a proper balance patch yet.

i just removed the poe2 icon from my desktop as well.

not yet de-installed. the game is to bad at this time.

I disagree. To me, it feels like 1.x era PoE1. Now, the idea of Ruthless was that it was supposed to recapture some of that 1.x game feel, so they're not unrelated, but I've played both, and only enjoyed one of them. 1.x era PoE1 made me fall in love with the game. 3.x era Ruthless mode had be re-rolling a non-Ruthless character.

Have you played since they buffed loot drops? They were pretty stingy early on, but they're better now.

PoE2 is not meant to be cheesed with any single skill. I feel like a lot of PoE1 players are trying to replicate PoE1 builds in the new game, and the entire idea of the new game is that skills are situational. A skill which is good for clearing will not be good for bosses, and vice versa; if you're trying to make one skill do all jobs they way you could in PoE1, then yeah, you're probably not having a good time. If you embrace PoE2 for what it is, though, and adapt your tactics to the new game's constraints, it rocks. IMHO.

If you're tired, then yes, you should take a break. Wait for GGG to make some more balance changes, then come back and give it another go. It's Early Access, after all, effectively a Closed Beta. Things are going to change as they add in the other half of the game.

Skills are meant to be situational, and to interact with each other to make powerful combinations. A skill which appears to have low damage on its own probably just needs to be combined with another piece or two to really sing. Tempest Bell by itself, e.g., is really clunky, but combine with Orb of Storms and Tempest Flurry, and it rocks.

I'm not finding XP gain in PoE2 to be any different than PoE1. The game itself is slower, so maybe that's why it feels like leveling takes longer?

You shouldn't give up on your dreams so easily. The dream can still live, and the cost of trying to make it live is pretty low. Maybe just take a breather and then try again later.
