Resolute Technique and Critical hits

I probably shoot myself in the knee with that question but is it intended that Aftershocks are not limited by the "Never deal critical hits" of the "Resolute Technique"?

I currently survive by generating guaranteed Critical hits ("Sunder" and "Hammer of Gods" with "inevitable critical" combined with "Seismic Cry") to generate at least one Aftershock which clearly deals critical damage.
