3rd and 4th Ascension need rework

I can run maps t2 easy and most t3s
I cannot get my 3rd and fourth ascension, I tried 5 times and now I have no ultimate inscribed or barya tokens and they rarely ever drop for me,

The first and second trials were punishing at lower lvls but acceptable with how simple some of the mechanics were to learn.
But third and fourth is absolutely crazy.
The difficulty spike is making even me not want to participate, and don’t get me wrong I love the game love the campaign, love the end game. I think it’s all amazing I think GGG is amazing for how fast they are updating and fixing things and I thank you Do much for brining this game to us.
That aside the ascendancy is one of the worst things iv tried to do in all of gaming, it’s a necessity locked behind a rare drop, gated yet again behind ridiculous mechanics and random influences some combinations make the trials impossible and then you lose a rare to min and can’t repeat it just because your unlucky

So let’s break it down.
First Honour, why do we have Honour ? We have health if you die you fail simple. we don’t need honour it seems like a mechanic that is extremely frustrating to the vast majority of players. I feel like you can do away with it completely and just make some of the monsters hit harder or be a tiny bit more difficult.

In the first trial it’s manageable because there’s not a ton of enemy’s or traps but for your third or fourth there’s crazy amounts of traps and they hit your honour far far to hard, one spike in one trial takes 1/4 of all your honour and you have to make it 30 trials. On top of that one spinning fire ball trap can nuke 1/2 half of your honour because once your ignited your honour burns. And on top of that if you’re unlucky you will not get a shrine to restore your honour which the amount it restores is completely random from 70-400.

Next is the attacks from off screen during your trial runs or large Aoes hidden under screen clutter, if your honour magically disappearing your probably standing on ice or fire and can’t see it, this is super frustrating way to end a trial.

Then next we have some extremely fast enemy’s in the trials which is fine, it’s absolutely not fine when forced to take a 25% movement speed penalty with no other options available. You get swarmed and honours gone in seconds.

And finally The bosses, some of which have massive almost unavoidable attacks or have things dropping from the ceiling or flames shooting from the ground or calling other monsters to help it. All with massive screen clutter, it becomes a head ache very fast.

Iv never die in a trials I’m only ever losing to honour and I have every honour resistance relic I can fit even at 45% honour resistance I can’t make it happen.

My friend a lvl 80 warrior gave up on getting his last two ascendancy all together
My other friends that arnt hardcore quit poe2 all together because they feel it’s meant for hard core grinders and not for people with jobs or kids.

and honestly I want to be playing the game and seeing what characters feel like at high levels compared to Poe and exploring the super cool atlas map., I don’t want to be grinding low level maps looking for tokens to do trials that are absolutely and completely unenjoyable I’d rather listen to a cat scratch a chalk board for five hours then grind the trials how they currently are.


Suggestions

Do away with the honour or reduce how much enemy’s and traps dmg it by 200-300% .
probably the easier fix is to have items drop from trial bosses that give huge amounts of honour permanently so we have more to work with and we can grind the trails to increase or maximum honour till we have enough that we can succeed in getting our ascendancy because then we know if we keep grinding we will eventually beat it.

One more quick thing since yesterdays update I’m getting t1 maps with mods like 500% increase in enemy critical hit chance paired with 190%monster critical dmg, that’s t1 map and even with crazy mods like that it didn’t have a benefit to make it worth doing at all no bonus xp, pack size, item increase ,rarity nothin or even waystone drop rate. And I’m seeing a lot and a lot of t1 maps like that extremely hard mods with no benefit to balance. It seems like mods in maps are a bad thing, they don’t give any benefit to the player 60% of the time just harder with no reason to do.
