Trial of the Sekhemas PS5 Stash Bug
This post relates to two issues: the first relates to what I believe is a bug, and the second is a feature I strongly recommend adding to save player frustration (like the frustration I experienced).
After completing my second trial for my second asendancy point at the Trial of the Sekhemas, I had a full inventory with several rates. I also had a gold key and a bronze key for the rewards chests. I was worried I wouldn't have inventory room for the chest items, so I wanted to either stash my inventory or go back to town and salvage/disenchant/sell. I was worried about teleporting, though, for fear of losing out on my trial rewards. I saw the stash in the room, and I thought "oh that must mean I shouldn't teleport." However, whenever I pressed triangle to quick stash, all of the items I quick stashed were on the ground. Further, when you're hovering over an item, there's no option to stash--just to "use" or "equip" (item depending). Once I ran into this problem, I thought that meant that this stash, for whatever reason, was only for taking out items in the reward room if you needed it. If there was no button option for me to stash/there was an inability for me to stash, I thought that that had guaranteed that I could return back to the room. Especially since the trial rooms themselves have drops--why would the game drop items and not allow me to go back to town if I can't interact with my stash? This is why I think that this lack of an input or at least lack of a quick stash input is a bug--I think that the stash was in fact intended to address the issue I'm pointing to. Regardless, I teleported away [I]after[I] trying to stash my then inventory. However, once I tried to return to the trial, the reward room was gone--meaning that I missed out on my ascendancy stat point, bronze chest, and gold chest reward. I write all of this to ask two things: (1) Please fix the stash issue for consoles. It was immensely frustrating to compete a difficult trial only to then lose out on the rewards. Especially when you can freely leave and return to the other trial rooms, having that standard not apply to the reward room seems counterintuitive from a player's perspective. I think that it's fine if the room is designed to not be teleported back into, and because that alone is reasonable I checked the stash. But, the inability to then stash my items was the sole reason I teleported out of the reward room. So, again, I ask you to please address this bug. (2) Please provide a warning to players before they leave the reward room. Given that you can teleport to and from the trial rooms themselves freely (by just continuing the same trial), it's not intuitive to the player to be locked out of the reward room. I write this after reviewing reddit posts of players who have experienced this problem. So if the developers intend for you to not be able to teleport out of the reward room, that's completely fine. However, I think that the player should receive warning box with a confirmation before leaving the room and abandoning the rewards. I take the time to write this because I hope it can be genuinely helpful. This is my first actual frustration with POE 2--I'm having a great time as a new POE player, and I'm incredibly impressed with GGG and their responsiveness to player feedback. Still an issue, finished my first ascendancy and thankfully I claimed the points reward/unlock before teleporting out as when I used the stash it just threw everything on the ground. So figured I'd teleport to town to drop my loot & go back and unlock all the chests...ya no, trials over, thanks for grinding for an hour to get no rewards...
