Event Horizon / Embrace the Darkness interaction Acolyte of Chayula worthless?

-Event Horizon states a 3% loss of life and ES when casting chaos skill.
-Embrace the Darkness states Damage is taken from Darkness before Life and ES.

Why does it still cost life and ES when casting chaos skill? Is this a bug or intended. If intended, seems like another notch against ever taking this Ascendancy node.

TBH, the whole ascendancy seems like it was half baked... Mana leech only seem present with physical damage. How many physical damage builds are going to stack ES and Mana? Why is there not a way to leech mana with spells?

Thanks for posting this, i was curious about this interaction. This is actually a GOOD interraction and i hope they dont change it. The purpose is to keep your darkness maxed so you get max damage bonus, so its GOOD that it doesnt take darkness first!

Lose life and Damage are separate interactions. Losing life bypasses damage resists and does not count as taking damage.
