Boss items and death

When you kill a boss and the items drop from it then a random effect kills you after all the items shouldnt dissappear on when you rez. just had that happen to me killed a boss on act 2 he spawned adds right before he died but he dropped a unique and the adds killed me. i respawn all items gone.
