[Path of Exile 2] About "Charge Infusion" consumption timer
Understanding that we're in EA and with 9 (out of 14) compatible support gems still listed as "coming soon" for Charge Infusion, I'm not sure the 4.3 second timer for charge consumption is at an ideal state at the moment.
The issue is not the timer itself, is the fact that nothing resets it under any circumstance – as in, it seems to still be running in the background even when no Frenzy/Power/Endurance charges are up. This results in often getting a charge instantly consumed whenever it's generated. I do think that resetting the counter on ANY charge generation will render the drawback entirely useless, but as it stands the skill is basically just drawback. Generating charges is already complicated territory with a lot of compromises (again, not deep understanding of the game), and the charge only running for one second not only nullifies the buff of Charge Infusion but often the usage of the charge itself to be consumed by any other skill. As direct suggestions, possibly: 1. Resetting the counter only when going from 0 to 1 charges 2. Resetting the counter whenever two charges are generated at once (via Profusion proc) Both of these (or any other) solutions could even work with their own compromises as well. Like an internal cooldown of itself – say, consumption cooldown can only be reset once every 2 seconds. Another way of going about it without breaking balance could be adding one timer reset measure while nerfing the bonus effects themselves (which are exactly high, but still). I feel like any minor adjustment to this would make it less terrible to use honestly, no matter the compromise. Last bumped on Dec 12, 2024, 12:24:11 PM
