Just hear this review out, he really has a coherent and good view on whats good and whats not. Hope GGG checks it out.

I think most of the review is nonsense.

He got solid points and he is very honest about PoE2.

Kripp's opinion on games (and not how to break those games) is always pretty cringe.

God and I though the campaign was awful, but Jesus Christ the endgame is made by psychopaths...
I'm not touchin this game until they do a 180º turn...or never again. Albertus sempervirens

" - I agree that ruthless was basically a pre-alpha version of poe 2, but poe 2's endgame is still nothing like ruthless and it's significantly easier than ruthless, and I think that poe 2 needs its own ruthless mode - At first he talks about movement limitations as though the dodge roll doesn't exist, but it's there and it doesn't even have a cooldown - Then he stated that the dodge roll is weak and not that useful, because there's no visual clarity and you can't even tell when you're supposed to use it. I believe his view is biased because he's playing a minion build and he can't see anything because of his minions, so his view doesn't apply to most players here - He's exaggerating the strength and frequency of one shot mechanics, I watched a lot of streamers running high tier maps with like 2200 hp and they're fine and almost never dying even though they're not even using the dodge roll properly, because they don't need to. He says you need at least 3k life, armour, and additional defensive layers to survive in high tier maps, but 3k life is not even hard to obtain, armour/evasion are very easy to obtain and other defensive layers like regeneration, ailment/stun avoidance are abundant on the tree - He explains how players being unable to get gem levels hinders their progress as the passive tree doesn't really offer power, but this is not the case. My gas explosion goes from 446% to 424% if I take one level away from it, and this is roughly 5% more damage, but it comes with the downside of incresaed mana costs. A damage cluster on the tree roughly gives me 4% more damage per point, on top of the utility I get from it (e.g., aoe, accuracy, skill speed etc.), with no downsides. So the balance between passive tree power and gem level power is in a good state in my opinion and I think he's wrong. As I progress, the raw power I'll get per passive will be less, but this is not an issue endgame builds will struggle with anyway - I agree with his views regarding the availablity of spirit gems in early game - He states that you can't get tanky during the campaign because there are no survivability nodes on the passive tree. While this could be true for SSF, it's very easy to cap resists in trade leagues, and evasion/armour/es are all very powerful in PoE 2, and there are lots of defense nodes on the tree. As I said, there hasn't been a single thing that was able to one shot me so far, I have capped resists since act 2 although I barely interacted with other players for anything other than weapon upgrades and jewels - Most of the things he said about the game being too punishing is simply skill/build issue - I agree with the takes on crafting and mod tiers - I disagree with his views regarding build diversity. I think there will be a lot of viable endgame builds in PoE 2, but only a limited number of viable builds for the campaign, because the campaign becomes immensely difficult if you try to play an unconventional build that has to allocate too many travel nodes early on, but this isn't really an issue in the endgame when gear matters much more than the passive tree. The fact that we're not compelled to play braindead zoomzoom builds to be able to map and that we have to survive in maps is a good thing for build diversity imo "buff grenades"

" You actually watched it, good sir. My hat is off to you. I can't stand watching Kripp when he's talking about anything besides making OP builds. |
