Free Respecs Are Essential During Early Access in PoE 2

The talent tree should absolutely be free to respec in the early access phase of Path of Exile 2, especially given the numerous tuning adjustments being made to classes. Early access is a time for players to explore and experiment with builds, providing valuable feedback to developers. Frequent balance changes and tweaks will inevitably require players to adjust their talent trees to stay viable or try out new playstyles. Locking respecs behind any sort of cost or grind at this stage would limit experimentation and discourage players from engaging with the system fully, ultimately undermining the purpose of early access testing. Allowing free respecs will foster better feedback and a more balanced and enjoyable experience when the game officially launches.

yep
It’s frustrating to see friends leaving the early access phase of PoE 2 due to respec costs and constant nerfs. Two of my friends have already quit because they couldn’t keep up with the frequent class adjustments and were punished by expensive respec systems while trying to adapt.

hard to sell a power fantasy game with no power
He was the one who said, "PoE is amazing; they'll definitely do something incredible with PoE 2." So, we started playing, brainstorming our own builds since there weren’t any guides available at the time. But then, our builds got nerfed—twice. Now, we can’t even kill a boss anymore. On top of that, we’re forced to farm the old Acts for 3-5 hours just to get enough gold to respec or make any meaningful changes. It’s beyond frustrating, and that’s exactly why he decided to quit.
LOL, another one is leaving, is this what you aim for GGG?

I would add to this sentiment. If skills are nerfed, causing any partial or complete respec to be viable again. Respect is excessively difficult and borderline insanely expensive at low to medium levels. During leveling, you spend gold on things you NEED to keep up with leveling or crafting. If a respec is required, as in my current situation. I need to FARM up the gold to afford my respec, so that I can then be more relevant in my build. And doing so in a nerfed set up...... id rather watch paint dry.

I agree that FREE respect makes sense during EARLY access in several ways. It will also afford developers a faster line of sight to imbalanced skills in builds as people will find them more often.

I would argue FREE respec in early access will speed up the tunning and balancing of classes, potentially reducing overhead on the Dev side.
just not going to play.
