Grenades scaling source
Hello everyone
I have a question on grenades. Does the explosion damage and aoe scale off of weapon that fired the grenade or off of weapon I hold when grenade explodes (either via fuse or detonation)? I ask this because I want to branch the skill tree for two weapons, switching between grenade and reload speed nodes on the two weapon skill trees, but don't know if doing so will hinder grenade damage and explosion radius. It appears to scale of your weapon damage and also gets other bonuses from your weapon.
I found a Crossbow that has ice attacks which cause freeze, and while having that one equiped, my grenades also deal ice damage and cause freeze. They also count as projectiles, at least thats what the Skill window says Last edited by Raoul9753#2068 on Dec 11, 2024, 6:59:30 AM

But if you equip a second crossbow, which one will affect explosion? One that fired grenade or one that you held when fuse ran out?

....you are joking right.
when you use a skill , it already has calculated stats from the weapon the fired it , switching wont do anything , until you fire another skill , connected with that other weapon . |

" Oh sorry, I misunderstood you question. I don't know. My best guess would be the one used to shoot the skill... If you give me a few hours, I can try it out for you^^ |

" I didn't know that for sure, that's why I started to doubt how it works. Thanks for clarification! So basically grenades snapshot on launch and switching weapons (and passives) won't affect them. |

" Yeah, can confirm. I fired my grenades using my crossbow that causes freeze to build up, switched to my bow with no element, and the explosion still caused freeze. |

New to PoE in general. If I have a crossbow with +% Physical Damage, will that scale the damage of grenades? Sorry if this is an obvious one. I assume it does, but I want to confirm.

" It should, then grenades will convert amped up value to their element, if they deal elemental damage |
