Scrolls of Wisdom
Dear developers, I have a question about the concept of currencies.
In PoE1, all the base currency for crafting has been clearly priced one relative to the other through the merchant's prices, and the base initial currency is the scroll of wisdom. This implies the need for its existence and the presence of unknown things, i.e. this type of currency is needed not only for direct recognition of things, but is the basic value in the store. In PoE2, gold became the base for purchases from a merchant. Accordingly, the value of the scroll of wisdom relative to other currencies has lost its significance. In this regard, my question is: why did the game keep the presence of the scroll of wisdom and unknown things? In my opinion, now a scroll is an extra item that takes up space in the inventory, and the mechanics of finding unknown things are atavism. Why was this left in the game? ☠️ Last edited by MikaelBox#6754 on Dec 10, 2024, 10:44:19 PM Last bumped on Dec 10, 2024, 11:36:17 PM

You need wisdom scrolls in PoE 2 for the first areas until you meet a certain character in Act 1 who will then ID stuff for free. As to why we still have Unidentified items, you'd have to ask the Devs.

Put a button in the inventory that when pushed, identifies all items in your inventory.
Get rid of wisdom scrolls. | |
