Item Affix Tier Listing reversal

Please change the way you have the item affixes tiered. When I pick up an item in POE1 if it said T1 mod I knew it was the best mod. Here in POE2 its reversed so the higher number tiers are the better mods but the problem is we have no idea how many mods there are. For Ring is the best mod for life t5 or t8 who knows unless I go to some random website to look for the mods and how many tiers. It just better the way it was before and no design philosophy should be impeded upon changing it back. If I identify an item saying mods are T1 will instantly tell me if its good or not.

Agree.

I think you're just too used to the PoE 1 system.

In fact, "bigger = better" makes more sense.

How do you propose adding new, more powerful tiers in the future? Tier 0? Tier -1?
+1
Or just next to tier in brackets what is max possible tier
eg. T5[9]
Higher tier = better makes more sense. Use poedb to look up max tiers if you need to.

This is the important thing. Outside of absolutely top-end gear, what you need to know is where things fit within a range.

Reliance on third party tools is already a problem that drives people away from PoE in general. Since it's pretty key to understanding the relative power of an affix it should really just be information available in the game.
I still prefer the previous system. It's not like it's unusual for a lower number to be the best. You get 1st place in a race for doing well, not 127th etc.

In either system I'd like a way in game to see all possible tiers of a mod that are available overall as well as what the highest possible tier for the current items skill level.

Tangentially, I also think it should be possible in game to see what affixes are even possible to roll on an item. Someone's there's not a mod you acidity want so it didn't even make sense to slam an item, but I can't know that without CraftOfExile.
There's only so much you can put in a tooltip. Other than what's the highest tier, it's also useful to know what item level is required to roll that tier.

I don't think that, save for putting the entire affix database in the damn game, they can make everyone happy.
