Returning to the Trial of Chaos

Not knowing how Act 3 ended, I inadvertently got pushed to Cruel Act1. When trying to go back to act 3 the only things available are the end Act3 Ziggurat locations (4). There is no access to anything pre-time portal. Was this intentional?

Would have liked to finish the Trial of Chaos before pushing forward.

In case someone looks for this, yes, you can go back through waypoints to any other ACT you finished previously, so you can try Trial of Chaos.

I was really pissed at first, as I tele'd out of the arena once ACT3 boss was done, but immediately spawned at the riverbank to cruel ACT1, so I've lost all gear there.
