? Can't Keybing Scroll Up/Down to Skills in 2024 ? GGG Please what's that about ?
Fellow Exiles,
it’s 2024—Why Are Our Mice Still Chained to the Past? Path of Exile has always been a game about freedom. You can be a necromancer wielding a sword, a ranger channeling arcane powers, or a duelist hurling fireballs. But when it comes to our mouse controls, we’re locked in a time capsule, unable to assign Scroll Up and Scroll Down to skills. In a game where micro-decisions define survival and every millisecond matters, this omission feels like an unforgivable oversight. Why limit the boundless creativity of our builds with such a glaring mechanical restriction? Let us spin our scroll wheels like the exiled gods of customization we aspire to be! The Scroll Wheel: A Symbol of the Atlas Itself If the Atlas of Worlds taught us anything, it’s that the wheel symbolizes endless possibilities. Yet here we are, stuck using the scroll wheel for camera zoom or default functions, a tragic waste of potential. Imagine the visceral satisfaction of scrolling up to hurl a Fireball and scrolling down to blink into safety with Flame Dash. The scroll wheel is ergonomic, intuitive, and already a part of every gamer’s muscle memory. In the lore, Exiles harness the unknown and bend it to their will—why can't we apply the same philosophy to our controls? It's almost heretical to think that the masters of Wraeclast, who can shape-shift into gods, cannot assign a simple skill to a scroll. The Upsides Are Clearer Than a Mirrored Item Scroll wheel keybinding isn’t just a quality-of-life improvement; it’s a competitive edge. Players with disabilities or limited dexterity could benefit immensely, expanding accessibility and inclusivity in the game. Hardcore fans would experience smoother gameplay, while newcomers might find the controls less intimidating. And let's face it, the clunky menu-tinkering to assign controls has been dragging down the immersion. If Zana can reshape entire maps and Alva can manipulate time itself, surely the developers can give us the power to bind our favorite abilities to the scroll wheel. TL;DR: If we can conquer the Shaper, the Elder, and untold horrors in Wraeclast, why can’t we conquer the settings menu and get scroll wheel keybinds? Exile, it’s time to demand better! Make your voice heard, because as Navali once said, “Fate will find you, but only if you choose to meet it halfway. Last bumped on Dec 10, 2024, 7:24:31 PM

That’s a really insightful comment, and I appreciate the thought behind it!
Here’s what I discovered as a workaround, though I haven’t fully tested it yet: I searched for 'POE' in my Documents folder. I found a file named poe2_production_Config.ini. Opening it, I scrolled down and noticed values 33 and 34 are linked to Scroll Up and Scroll Down (located next to Zoom In and Zoom Out). I set Zoom In/Out to '0' and reassigned values 33 and 34 to my desired bindings: Use Flask 2 and Action 3. While this workaround lets me customize my controls, it’s frustrating that such steps are necessary. Limiting players in such a way feels counterintuitive, and I’d strongly suggest the developers consider a more user-friendly binding system. GGG, if you’re looking for someone to help organize and improve these processes, I’d be happy to contribute. It seems there’s room for improvement in how these systems are managed and i'm available for a new challenge if this can pay well. Thank you!
