Dots feel weak, thoughts?

So far, damage over time skills feel incredibly weak versus bosses.
I've seen multiple streams where basically players are taking off 10% or more health from bosses in single hits, making the fight last about 1 minute in total.

Meanwhile me running full Chaos damage passive nodes (even the one that sacrifices 3% health for 52% extra Chaos damage) dots with the Despair curse needing 10~20 seconds to even deal 5%.

Are other dots the same?
It feels a bit off in terms of speed.
Am I just missing specific mechanics that would drastically increase damage?

For reference this is what I'm using myself.
Contagion (Swift Affliction, Magnified Effect)
Essence Drain (Chain + Persistence + Ambush)
Despair (Decaying Hex, Impending Doom)
Dark Effigy (Envenom, Bursting Plague, Corrosion)
Profane Ritual (Minion Pact, Arcane Tempo)
Skeleton Warrior (Meat Shield, Last Gasp, Infernal Legion)
Withering Presence ()
Mostly Chaos % damage modifiers.

I had the same exact build.

Chaos DOT is simply not good right now.

With the same character, I tried this:

- Flame Wall (no supports)
- Raging Spirits (no supports)
- Summon Arsonist (Scattershot)

With just that I was killing at least twice as fast, if not faster.

I was FULLY spec'd into Chaos DOT as well.

bleed is op though
Im absolutely demolishing the game right now with ignite. My surviveability is a little weak but because i have perma demon form, i rely a lot on the inproved dodge roll. Incinerate instantly applies ignite, so i never need to spec into "ignite chance" also, my cast on ignite procs 2-3 times EVERY SECOND!!! this is because the longer you hold down ignite, the stronger it gets, effectively reapplying the ignites up to 10 times. With fast cast rate, i can hit max incinerate really quickly with 60+ fire exposure. I down bosses in 1-2 minutes.
