Xbox version let me choose my character once - now I need to create a new one

After years of not playing the game I got a PoE itch and first connected my Xbox and PlayStation accounts for the game with my PC account.

Then I loaded the game onto my Xbox and started it. It showed my one Xbox account's character but also something interesting caught my eye. There was mentioned that this account is a (or has?) subaccount(s). I thought this was perhaps a way to play my other accounts' characters on the Xbox so I pressed RT+LS to access the subaccount picker.

I picked I believe the PC account but this was not providing with a way to play the PC character. It just showed the screen where you choose a class.

And there was no way to go back to my Xbox account. Even after ending the game client, deleting the save game space and rebooting my Xbox I am not shown my character that I developed on Xbox.

Can anyone follow this description and offer a solution so that I get back to the screen where I can pick my character?

Meanwhile I'm going to delete the client and redownload it hoping for a magic reappearance of my witch.

Redownloading the client didn't help. I can literally not play my witch which I've created on the Xbox.

What can be done now?
