Act 1 progression suggestion as a low skill ceiling player

Firstly, congratulations on producing a great game. Love POE2, but only after I was able to get the character going. I have about 2000 hours on POE1 mostly on SSF, so not a veteran but not a stranger to the grind. Currently, just started Act2 on POE2.

Since I not a talented gamer, I relied heavily on higher character level, gear and skill tree to get me progress thru the game (even on POE1). With the current Act1 low gear and craft material drop rate, it made Act 1 progression too slow for me to have fun because I was stuck right at start and there was not enough glimpses of hope to make me want to keep playing.

It's like picking up a great book knowing it's a heavy read but the first chapter is already too heavy to suck you in.

Is it the player skill issue? YES! Absolutely! However, that's my low skill ceiling. Not too much I can do about it.

I actually love the current loot drop rate. I spent more time playing rather that sorting out loot. So a few possible tweaks that I think can help without compromising the fundamental:

1. Class biased loop drop thru Act1. More chances for "suitable" gear == faster progression.
2. Better gear to buy from vendors in Act1.
3. Gear reward after quest completion like POE1.

The reason why I think only Act1 needed tweaking, is that we just need some glimpses of fun to get excited, especially for those with low skill ceilings like myself. I am in Act2 now and enjoying the grind. Act2 onwards can be where the real grind begins once you learned the ropes.

Completely agree with all these points, and devs: if ANYONE IS READING THIS PLEASE stop the fact that you can immediately die from AOE or mobs RIGHT AFTER KILLING A BOSS. This is SO freaking annoying in a game that has supposedly "stop animations." Never had this issue in any other ARPG. When you kill an uber, their spells are supposed to stop, the minions are supposed to vanish (much like YOURS stop or vanish when YOU die.......) and you don't take any more damage. However in PoE2, even if you destroy the uber, you still get killed and robbed of the loot. This is the sixth time it's happened to me, but it is SO frustrating to a new PoE player, it will prevent many from returning to the game if it happens enough times.

Simple, easy, normal fix. I put the game down for the rest of day several times after grinding the same boss five or six times, finally manage to kill it after an half hour battling, only to immediately die - staring at a screen full of loot that despawns after I respawn. F**k THAT. I can only take that a couple more times, and just kick the game out the window. Ludicrous. (Multiply this times tens of thousands of newbies that might stay and grind if it's fixed.) If anything, maybe that loot in a boss arena doesn't despawn? So you can go back and ACTUALLY collect a reward for getting that far?
