POE2 - Unable to Complete "Ascent to Power" in Cruel Difficulty

Hey, so I'm playing POE2 on Cruel Difficulty and I'm trying to complete the quest "Ascent to Power." I've killed the boss in the Traitor's Passage two times so far. The first time dropped the key needed to do the ascendancy trial but the second time didn't. I already tried to complete the trial with the key despite not having the quest progression but failed. Now I'm unable to get the key and the quest is still stuck.

My guess at why this issue occurred is that when I started Cruel Difficulty I had an extra key to access the ascendancy trial and the quest immediate popped up on my screen. So I'm assuming the game thinks I already accessed this zone which may be why it's not progressing. Could I please get some help so I can progress the quest and acquire my ascendancy points? Thanks.

Same. Please fix this. I completed a 2 trial run and did not ascend.

Ascewnt to power tells me to go search Traitors passage. CLeared the map 5x, head to toe, not a single speck of fog of war left.

Nothing.

Can't progress. Can't ascend. No riches no bit... well anyway. Fix pls

hopefully this can be looked at. ascendancy is important as well as balabala is annoying to deal with

Same isse, (cruelty difficulty) i got a random drop of 'Djinn Barya'. defeated balbala. no ascention drop. quest stuck on 'Search Traitors Passage' after many kills of balbala

You need a token with 3 trials. I did it and got my 5 and 6 point
