[POE2] Don't like any of the input methods...
Controller probably feels the most natural to me, but it's not without several issues.
1) Aiming doesn't feel responsive with the joystick. Many times I'm pointing South (for example) with the Joystick but the game is locked into aiming North for whatever reason, and my spells don't do what I want them to do. 2) Inventory & character management is soooo clunky. The easiest solution would be to just let me swap back forth between controller and m&kb at will. I'm sitting at my desk, I can do both. I would like to use both. Why do I have to logout to switch? Ew. Point and click feels like I'm on ice, not a fan. And WASD ain't it. Going down to 8 degrees of movement is trash. It's like I'm going backwards in time to the early 90s with NES or SNES. If WASD meant W goes towards the mouse cursor, and S meant back away from mouse cursor, I might be able to get behind that. But W up, S down, A left, D right is bad IMO. When I'm playing point and click games I like to do lots of micro movements and precise positioning. 8 degrees of movement is just not a game I want to play. But luckily, there's options, just unfortunately the other options aren't very good either. My preferred choice would be to get a left handed gaming controller to use with my MMO mouse. If I could use a joystick for my movement in my left hand, point and click my spells with my right hand, and then just use keyboard shortcuts for things like my tree screens and inventory and character sheet, that would be the bees knees IMO. I dunno, maybe partner with a controller company and get a POE2 branded left handed controller that you can sell for a $150 and some in-game cosmetics or something. Anyways, as the game is right now, the controls are very offputting, and I'm probably going to table the game until you give me at least hot swapping back and forth between controller and M&KB. But I think you can do better than what's available right now. Last bumped on Dec 10, 2024, 1:03:45 AM

+1 for the left hand analog joystick and mouse at the same time.
OP, look up Azeron - they make gaming controllers for the left hand that have an analog joystick + a bunch of buttons. They take a little getting used to, but they're really good for games with a lot of buttons. |

" Ya that sounds alright, I know there are controllers out there. Just need the game to support the analog movement binds before I go and blow money on one. |
