The Trials of Chaos - Collect all the Soul Cores - No Switch to Lower Wall

In the third trial on my third attempt at "The Trials of Chaos", I cannot progress. No Soul Cores in the accessible area. There seems to be more of the area behind a wall that can be opened with a switch, but there is no switch to open it. I only know the walls can move because there is a different switch that moves a different wall in this same trial area. My second screenshot shows the moveable wall (with no switch) at the top of the screen.

The trial modifiers I selected were:
1. Fire Turrets
2. Reduced Recovery
3. Lightning Turrets

The lightning turrets seemed to overwrite the fire turrets. Not sure if this is related.

EDIT 1: I also noticed that I could go back up the elevator, into previous sections of the map, even though I hadn't completed the third trial. This might be related.

EDIT 2: I just got the exact same bugged level layout (see second reference number). I picked Fire Turrets during that run as well. No soul cores, and no way to open the wall to the rest of the area, and ability to ride elevator up to the earlier parts of the trials.

Same issue here. Picked completely different modifiers though so I feel that's unrelated... It's my first run by the way.

Picked up any turret moddifier. In my case I can see 3 levelrs around stone altars but I can only interact with the one on the top that has the "SWITCH" label.

Cannot progress and had to leave the trial of chaos.

this is not a bug, you need to go back up the elevator you came in when the side walls are raised
