Flicker Strike Monk Ideas

Does anyone have any planned trees/builds with flicker strike?

Hoping to swap to flicker strike soon with Redflare Conduit Unique, Hoping it works well together. I'll give an update if it does.

What exactly do you want to know?

Yes, "Redflare Conduit" generates Power Charges on Hits. But you can not generate Power Charges during Flicker Strike. So afterwards you need at least another successful hit.

It's fun to use, but can feel pretty clunky sometimes - especially when you always need to check if you have a power charge or not. Maybe there is another Unique to fix this. I personally found it a bit annoying (compared to the more predictable way of using Frenzy Charges > Power Charges on Freeze every 6 seconds).

I used Ice Strike with "Ice Bite" (Attacks Gain Ice Damage) and "Innervate" (Attacks Gain Lighting Dmg) while "Charge Staff" was Schocking Enemies. This gave Flicker additional Cold dmg (always) and Lighting damage (sometimes). It's fun to watch when you flicker around and at the same time you see your heralds spamming.

But even though I love my Monk, we really need better maps. It's annoying to play a fast class that gets stuck on every obsticle. Especially playing with WASD and it's hard to see almost invisible barriers like litte stones etc.

PS: Redflare Conduit is also pretty funny on "Falling Thunder". You can spam it in empowered mode.
Yeah as immatoll has gone over it's so clunky getting flicker strike to work, it's great when it does but... power charges are so hard to get going reliably that skills such as ice strike just out perform it. if there was a minimum power charge node instead of the 'consumes an additional' node it might be okay?

edit : It's also not the easiest to scale flicker while still being able to use your other abilities

I have tried flicker strike. Ended up with Redflare Conduit and spaming Falling thunder (with perpetual charge, you often keep charges or generate new with redflare). Like that thing dont need any build up, can easily clear whole screen and does more damage even to bosses. And falling thunder wont take you randomly into middle of map to your death.

They need to increase damage multiplier on flicker. But instead, i expect huge nerf on Falling thunder multiplier to make flicker "viable" option.

Yeah i find the damage on flicker lacking. Charge generation is now going okay with two uniques but the damage itself seems underwhelming. My storm wave does significantly more damage which feels wrong considering i can spam that skill.
