No chat on PS5

I am unable to access chat on ps5. Period. I've added the chat icon to my hotbar, but clicking on it does nothing. If I click on another player and whisper them, a chat box opens. Otherwise, I've been unable to access chat AT ALL. I see the random area chat messages pop up, but I can't get this to function at all.

Thank you for the response. I'm fairly certain that it is. I've spent a ridiculous amount of time in the settings, and everything I can find pertaining to chat is checked "on". Unless there is something hidden elsewhere, I'm at a loss.

Same,I don't have chat since this morning, as if nobody was online.

Since day 1, the shortcut we can place on our skills bar (open chat) doesn't work.
Only way to open chat is open inventory fullscreen and hold L2 to show chat window. Very hard to communicate |

You can open chat by holding down options button to access a wheel menu, down on that is chat

I have no chat option on through radial menu, although there is an option that is red and says "not available".
The previous poster's method for holding L2 while in full screen inventory does work and is the only way I've been able to bring up chat. Loving through early access bugs. 🤣 Just an old fart trying to make the world safe from demons, monsters and pedos.

The thing with chat L2 shortcut that do not work is one thing.
You dont see messeges from PC players. When i try to invite to party PC player, I get an error 'request rejected due to your cross platform limitations.' Funny is that ppl see my messeges, like in guild. They replay and i dont see their messege:o |
