Hard ARPG with no death log?
Hi
Pros: I'm having a blast so far with the game, trying to do my thing without external guides and whatnot. I'm getting the "hard vibe" Con: The very reason why i'm writting this is because it's infuriating to die and die again if you don't know what's killing you. -This dark / purple looking spell ? oh i don't know, physical, chaos ? maybe fire ? -You have 30 enemies around you, you have 3 or 4 spells active making a screen mess and then a oneshot ? no clue from where the death log has been asked for years. to my knowledge you are not opposed to it, so what's going on ? Cool game so far, but this one is bothersome Last bumped on Dec 10, 2024, 6:31:07 AM

At least a death log like in Last Epoch would be cool

dead simple fix would be to give us different colored damage indicators and the ability to turn them on/off

I don't know what is simple or not to implement. I'll just argue about what I think the game is missing and why.
Ideal scenario from my perspective: -log of the last 5 sec before I died. -knowing what buffs / debuffs were applied on me and my enemies ex: was I under -50% fire exposure? was my armor reduced? Did my enemy "Crit" and was he buffed with "250% critical damage bonus" Why do I think this is the best solution ? -it's an IN GAME tool (to learn and gain knowledge about the game mechanics, the bosses etc.) -Dying to things you don't understand is frustrating, but it's ok if you have a way to improve and learn. -We'll have access to data after being killed: take a breath, pause and look at the numbers -Having information to modify build and work on upgrades: Because I may not care about the 300 fire damage, but then I get cursed, fire exposure, -max res, enemy crits, more crit damage bonus and suddently it's a 2000 dmg hit. With an actual log explainging than, then i'll think: hey let's get reduced damage from crits, or work on curse reduction, or maybe overcap my resistances. -Not relying on build guides so much Because we'll have more tools to make our own. This will also help with build diversity They implemented a lot of explanation in the game with keywords on abilities, equipment etc, I see the log being an even more "mandatory" feature to understand what's going on. |
