Ascendency POE2

I just finished my Ascendency. I then chose my Ascendency. I spent 2 points, I think I remember there being 4 though. I'm not 100% sure, because when i finally made my decision where to put them I left the trial and now I only have 2 points and zero more to spend. Do you have to spend all 4 of you points at the alter, or are there only 2 awarded after the trial in act 2?

2 points per ascension trial is all you get. You eventually end up with 4 during EA
