Fail to initialize (fail to start client) after a PC crash

My PC crashed, which is an unrelated problem. However, I expect my software to be able to repair or recover in some way after a crash. (obviously not a big deal since it is an early access beta)

I can't even open the client to click on verify files or repair. I think my only option is to uninstall, unless if I can access repair tools in another way.

Please help, I love this game and want to keep playing.

I found the repair tools when I was about to uninstall (they are found via uninstall). Unfortunately, the repair was "successful", but I still get the same error.

I can't find a way to edit my original post so I'll post updates like this.

I installed the game on steam, runs perfectly.

Forgot to mention I used the stand-alone client previously (with the reported bug after that one PC crash)

I'll reinstall the stand-alone client again to see if it fixes the bug I had there. Think it's probably valuable as a bug report to check that complete re-install fixes it. Otherwise it would be related to files that are kept between install.

Reinstalling the stand-alone client fixed the issue btw.

Same happened to me just now.
The game froze and the mouse is responsive but moves very slow.
I shut down my pc, when i turned it on the game refuse to launch with error:
