Stuck in Riverbank Act 1 Cruel: Can't Use Skills or Teleport

Here’s what happened:
I had already cleared the Riverbank and the boss in Act 1 Cruel, progressing to Clearfall Encampment. After that, I decided to finish the "Blood Sacrifice" quest for the skill points and to free up inventory space by getting rid of the huge sacrificial heart. To do this, I went back to Act 3. However, in order to reach Aggorat, you need to use the time travel portal in Act 3’s Ziggurat Encampment. The portal takes you to Act 1 Cruel difficulty after beating the story. For some reason, you can’t just go to the different time period without beating Act 1’s starting zone again.

Now, here’s where things went wrong:
I found a great ring with cast speed, life, and all resistances, so I equipped it and stashed my old ring. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize I lost 5 Intelligence by doing this, which means I can no longer use any skills. I’m now stuck attacking with my fists in Cruel difficulty.

Things I’ve tried so far:

Running back through the Riverbank to town: Doesn’t work because the boss keeps respawning, even though I already defeated it in Act 1 Cruel.
Using a portal to town: For some reason, I can’t teleport to a town from here.
Attacking with fists: Ineffective and deals no damage.
As it stands, I’m permanently stuck in the Riverbank in Act 1 Cruel. Any advice on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated!
