Characters are gone.

I recently linked my Steam account to possibly play on PC later on and after doing so all my characters on PS5 disappeared. I tried making new ones with the same names but the names are taken leaving me to believe that Steam has somehow overridden my PS5 account.

make sure you've selected the correct sub-account on the start screen. If this is set to your PC/Steam one it will show the chars on that sub-account, not the ones you've created on PS5.

To check/change this go to the game title screen and press X to login.

In the character screen you should see a tiny wee dropdown option at the very top-left of the screen displaying the sub-account you are using. You can press the Right Thumbstick to change this. As you change the sub-account you should see the character roster change.

Thanks for the quick response. I see that I have 2 accounts now on the PoE site but it is not showing this on the PS5.

If you restart the game on PS5, press X to login, do you see the drop-down at the very top left? (its really small)

I restarted the game again and all I can do is create new characters at the gallows there's nothing in the top left of the screen.

okay, can you create one character. just name them something random. then when that gets you into the game, quit and restart so that the first thing you see when logging in is the character select screen.

that should get you to the screen where you can change to the sub-account that has your characters.

(and yes, it's weird that it forces you to make a character on a sub-account before you get the option to change which sub-account you are using)
