PSA: For all those complaining about the lack of loot and currency. Here is your solution.

It's easy to fall into the usual mindset to progress through the game and grab upgrades as you go. This has felt very typical of ARPGs for a long time. So personally I can appreciate the need to slow down, level up, and gear up when needed. It feels very rewarding and character progression feels a lot more tangible.

So I decided to run a test to see if boss loot was nerfed after the initial kill. I decided to spam The Executioner in Act 1. For those who are unaware you can CTRL+Left click a zone entrance, or a waypoint from town to create a new instance. So bosses are indeed endlessly farmable. I did not try to figure out which bosses were easier to get to. But the need for currency does seem most important as being able to craft your upgrades is the best way to improve your character's ability to progress easier. So a low level and quick to kill boss seems most efficient for currency.

I am running 27% Increased rarity of items found on my gear. The boss very consistently drops currency and rares. Sometimes Uniques, although with The Executioner just lower level stuff of course. Don't forget the rares can be broken down to create those valuable Regal Orbs. For currency mostly Augmentation/Transmutation as well of course. But this seems like it's less RNG for currency to drop, and more RNG for the more useful stuff. Which is still very good.

Before anyone tries to say that this seems like an exploit. The devs did tell us that they wanted stuff like bosses to be hard, so that you'd take the time to farm and come back to finally achieve that satisfying kill. I fully believe it's part of the game design to take some time to level up more and farm loot from bosses when needed.

What items do witch need to drop so essence drain can start doing dmg?
I can farm any boss 200000 times but can they even drop something to improve dire situation of "some" builds?

Boss farming wont fix all the problems. There's obvious imbalances with some builds just not being that great compared to others.

But your feedback is valuable I'm sure. The devs have shown that they do pay attention to these things and it is the beginning of early access release after all.

Stuff will get buffed or nerfed soon I'm sure.

So for now your only solution may be to try another character or build.

Bad solution for early game issues, this might work the first playthrough but having to grind for upgrades during acts just to progress is going to feel terrible on resets. The grind works best in end game due to the reset loop, unless they have some alternative to doing the exact same areas again when the game resets this is going to become mindnumbly dull
I agree with you, partially. Probably the thing I've disliked the most about PoE was the need to play through all the acts again every league. I've always wanted something like what D3's adventure mode. Where you just have all the waypoints unlocked and can farm levels in relevant areas to progress.

While the idea of having to farm bosses to progress every league does sound worse, I feel like the balance updates that we'll get that make builds more viable, our knowledge of the game/boss mechanics and builds as we learn them, amongst other things as well, should result in us just being better at the game and not needing to compensate for what is very new to us right now
endless dominius runs in the poe beta with only 3 acts anyone?

nowadays, people seem to not watch any introductions and announcements, build up their own fantasy of what to expect from a new game and instantly complain when they're not met.

ggg can't offer a easy poe1 like walkthrough in poe2 cause skilled players will not like it.
ggg clearly isn't aiming for mass appeal with poe2, they want fans who really like their game and support it, that is very different from the average john steam doe with 50 games in his library who gives the game a try to be off to the next game 2 days later.
age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
So not only is there not a alteration orb to actually reroll blue gear but you expect people to "find" rarity on gear just to get drops from bosses when they take time to kill in the first place, so no rarity we stuck with gold and whites but you saying we MUST get rarity on gear to get drops.

We are doing the campaign not omptemizing for rarity gear. That comes whe you done with the campaign and can start building for rarity gear

Oh and i can go into my currency tab take out a couple of exalts and regals and drop them in a corner and stack the currency just like that screenshot.

Saying I have 27 magic find is to tell the people with real knowledge about these games that I didn't stack it to get these kinds of results. So no, I'm not expecting you to find gear with magic find easily. Although it's really not going to take you that long to find more than 27% by checking the blue drops you get from boss farming either.

I'm also glad you think I put forth the effort to drop some orbs near The Executioner's corpse so I could execute my elaborate plan to trick people into thinking this method works.

It's very easy to just test this yourself.

Lastly I kill this boss in about 20 seconds with my Act 2 character. Doesn't take long at all.
