PS5 version of the game not eligible after purchasing access on PC

Hello,

Is it a thing that after purchasing access to EA to account linked with PS5, I have to buy the game on the console as well? Like, it makes no sense for me, cause it was not mentioned and I thought I could be able to play both platform on the same character and it seems i have to buy the game 2 times.
