Unable to apply crafting orbs to quarterstaffs

I am somewhat familiar with PoE.
I had a normal quarterstaff and I tried to use an orb of alchemy on it to get the error that it can't be applied... is this is a bug started last night can modify the weapons at all. Regardless of conditions I have tried multiple orbs, nothing is applying.

Alchemy orbs can only be used on items of "normal" rarity. You probably used it on either "magic" or "rare" items.

Plz dont spam the "Bug Report" section of the forums with stuff like that!

If you are unclear with crafting, google poe2spreadsheet (im not sure if i am allowed to post links here, but the site has exactly that name) to find a very easy to understand guide on basic mechanics including crafting.

I didn't spam anything...
I posted a note in the early access forum via the site... lol.

I figured it out, it wasn't a magic item. It was purchased through a vendor as white....

I thought it was a bug when the only message I receive is error cannot apply and it was the second staff I tried it on.

The answer is if you buy from a vendor dont bother trying to craft on it.

@way2stupid#9491 get better context before spouting a "band-aid" response.
