Infinite loading screen (solo). Can't Access Act III

Just finished act 2. After the cutscene explaining where you must go to continue the quest, the game just presented a black screen. After reloading game, it gets stuck on first loading screen of Act III. Able to create new character but previous one inaccessible at this point.

Sadness.

I had this exact issue but the game just loaded after restarting a few times
