PoE 2 unfortunately feels terrible to me aswell as all of my poe playing friends.

Ok folks, let's be honest...
We have all been shaking with excitement about POE2 FINALLY coming out but...and there's a HUGE but...The game is not fun for me or any of my friends what so ever. It has absolutely nothing to do with the technical difficulties we had to deal with at launch (those things happen), neither do we have any complaints regarding the awesome visuals/effects and artwork you guys have put into this gorgous looking game. It does however, have everything to do with your CORE principles about doing your damndest to make this into a walking talking RUTHLESS HARDCORE SIM that your dear Mark have been wishing for for YEARS. And here's the verdict when it comes down to it, dare I say a majority of seaseoned poe1 players aswell as new players. It feels absolutely terrible. The dodge rolling feels terrible. The way it feels like your character is "skating in sirup" instead of being able to turn quickly at a whim like you can in POE 1 also feels TERRIBLE. The loot drops feels terrible. Almost every single mechanic from level 1 in regards of bosses aswell as regular white mobs (unless you play very specific builds and classes) feels terribly overtuned to the point of nobodys enjoyment. You made also made sure to remove life from the passive tree in order to (maybe?) make space but at the same time forgot to make sure there is even a SLIGHT compensation on the gear that actually does drop as you are going through early levels making sure you will die over and over due to being squishy. This is not POE anymore. The game should have been named something else imo, like a standalone title. This version of poe is like Dark souls,D4 and D2 had a weird child. The responsiveness from your character isn't there at all, it feels kind of being drunk (lol). But it doesn't matter if I focus on movability alone or the attacks since it just all in all feels bad due to so many basic mechanical reasons. Cosmetically the game looks absolutely AMAZING but MEHCNANICALLY it is a complete and utter joke. I truly, truly love POE and what it has brought to us all in terms of enjoyment and I thank you all at GGG for that, but I can tell you with a 100% certainty that you will loose EASELY 60% of your whole playerbase in about 2 months if it feels anywhere near this in the near future. A new player will most likely try the game for about 3-4 hours and never come back no matter what promises are made months later and that would be a true shame since me and others really want this to succeed. I have around 20 friends that I know playing PoE that has been stoked for this for a very very long time and this simply ain't it. I don't care what any streamers say, it is all cope, straight up. It is so overhyped it is cringeworthy at this point. I get it, It's their livelyhood and they NEED this to succeed to make a living aswell as having deep love for the game so they HAVE to cater to you guys at GGG in order to be in the "circle" if you know what. The average player like myself will tell you the truth and nothing but the truth without the goal to be mean, every single one of my dear friends playing the game is feeling the exact same thing at this point in time. If the game doesn't radically change and you choose to stick to your guns in terms of movement-snappiness aswell as balancetuning monsters aswell as giving out at least baseline- decent loot so people can learn how poe2 works, we are all most likely quitting going back to POE 1 (Given that this way of thinking doesn't transfer to that game too...) Before the dear GGG white knights show up to tell me how horrible I am for saying my part then let me spare you the effort. Neither me or anyone else from my circuit will care. You are literally wasting time on someone who will not read nor respond to your comments, all I'm praying for is that GGG will lok at this seriously and adress it. This has nothing to do with being toxic or unpleaseant This is simply my honest opinion and I wish you a good day/evening. Peace! You will have to excuse any type-os or gramtical errors given that english is not my first language. :) Last bumped on Dec 7, 2024, 10:04:57 PM

At least PoE ruthless hardcore had ways to get decent sustain and actually had nodes that were good for scaling your given weapon.
The main issue is not the enemy power, it is that the player power is so low outside of the few classes that actually have good sustain and damage nodes for their main playstyle near their start. |

^ Agree and chatting in game someone I think suggested that its gear that makes us feel weaker, and the inconsistency of gear. So I think making more crafting materials available would be useful.
I managed to have a yellow hammer on a character that couldnt use it. When I rolled a Warrior and they could use at at L2, that L2 warrior felt stronger than a L6 Monk in the same area. The answer shouldn't be "Farm". That is an assumption that a) people find that enjoyable and b) that they have the time availability to do that. Forcing people into a game mode or mechanic they do not enjoy just to make the game not suck for a small amount of time does not keep people engaged. A hardcore player can ignore the crafting materials and progress in their whites and blues, other people cannot make a choice. Ultimately the way to make more people enjoy the game is to support more types of fun and provide more choice. Choice to play Ruthless, choice to have more loot or more crafting materials. Same way as we have choice to play hardcore, SSF or not. More choice please. I'm done buying anything until we get some clarity on the future of POE1 and POE2 and I know GGG plans to spend effort on a game I want to play.
Tell us if POE1 still has your top tier support or if POE2 will get a mode for more casual play. |
