PoE2 Unable to use Book of Specialisation

Tradition's Toll requires me to use the Book of Specialization, yet when Right-clicking I just get the message: "Failed to use item: The operation could not be completed.". It is never consumed, but I can't do anything with it.

Same as another post, managed to work by closing the game, closing Steam, and reopening everything.

I solved it by entering a map and then using the bug.

Had same bug, confirmed that it was fixed by entering area with monsters and then using whatever item you need (it was wis scrolls for me)

had the same bug with currency items (alc and aug) as well and entering a new zone with monsters fixed it |
