How do I use this gem? (Blasphemy Meta Gem)

I got the Blasphemy Meta Gem in PoE2.

When I slot the gem in, it says I don't have the right weapon type but the UI tip doesn't tell me what weapon type is required, very confusing.

I use wand and scepter, but I've tried equipping all other weapon types I have and different combinations and it still didn't activate. What am I missing?

I am running merc witch hunter and have been wondering the same thing, ive equipped both specter and wands and the gem still says wrong weopen type. i have no idea how to get it to work, also ive noticed people able to equip skill gems in the support slots for the meta gem yet I still cant figure it out.

The tooltips are wrong, you need to socket a Curse Gem into Blasphemy as a support gem, instead of having it on skill bar. Weapon type doesn't matter at all.

Thank you @geo! I had to remove my curse spell from the spell list, place it back in my inventory and THEN place the spell (curse gem) into blasphemy.

Marks are not curses, they're marks.

I just had the same problem. Somehow you need to have a Skill socketed to it, that is maximum 1 lvl below. Meaning I had Blasphemy lvl 8 with lvl 6 Enfeeble, which didnt work. So I used my lvl 8 gem and the lvl 8 Enfeeble works somehow.

curse has to be lower level than blasphemy

For the other players that has encountered this bug. Make sure your curses active in both weapons sets. Some players use 2nd weapon set curse tactic similar to snoobae. If you remove your curse from the 1st weapon set it won't activate in blasphemy even if you check both weapon set while attached to blasphemy. You need to put your curse into a skill slot and then check the box for both weapons sets. After that you can put into blasphemy again.
