Act 2 Fire damage is basically unplayable.

this is insane how weak fire skills are.

incinerate issues:

1. Why does incinerate not benefit from firewall
2. its fire penetration is worthless, as it cannot over-penetrate into the negatives, and there seems to be no way to enable this.
3. it does not spawn raging spirits. this should be spawning using the same rules as other AOE spells.
4. Its damage on its tool tip is wrong. it does not deal the DPS it details. it deals about 10-20% of what is detailed on the tool tip. tested this using firebolt. it details 150 dps on the incinerate tool tip. fire bolt deals 30 damage per cast. hit a target with a single firebolt and did 20% of its life. it took two seconds for incinerate to deal 20% of the same targets HP pool.


Flame wall: No major issues. Needs the ability to be default centered on the PC on controller. maybe implement a hold toggle for self casting. joystick targeting is a joke.

Solar Orb - Needs its damage increased substantially.

it took nearly THIRTY MINUTES OF KITING to kill the coin boss for ascendancy. you guys have lost your minds. this is Unforgivably bad. i'm 50/50 on offence/defence nodes and every single boss hit breaks my entire mana pool and half of my life. how are you supposed to even play this game?????
same issue on warrior. cannot outdamage sekhema trial boss or molten vault boss on fire/ignite build before the arena kills you... gess i should gonen for thick hammer build before it got nerfed...^^

Im playing fire build aswell and for me it was okay during the 2 first acts, but lately I realize while watching some streams, than killing the boss in 10-15min in act 2 was not what happened for most of players.

And at act 3, on molten vault that is a bos dps check, with ... fire resistance, I realized I cannot kill him in time. Even with flammability.
I have a good stuff (+110% fire dmg on my stuff, +10% fire dmg on a ring), good dmg on the skill tree and I tried every combo of fire spells : fireball, incinerate, solar orb,... I cant have enough dps to destroy him...


On the map act 3 lvl 41, I cant even kill a trash mob when my fireball go though my fire wall, then crit with mana flare and my 700 mana points, with fire penetration. I cant kill it...


My best spell and the only way I can kill some bosses, its ... spark, going though my fire wall.
Yeah, incinerate seems extremely underwhelming, also short range, makes my toon move really slow. I gave up and changed back to Spark going through the flamewall.
Im playing incinerate on a pathfinder with the mobility buff and it feel ok but only as an activator for cast on ignite and as a exposure generator. As a dps ability it is laughably weak, even with ignite magnitude scaling.

Fire mages really got the short end of the stick in EA. Firestorm is also a bad joke, especially compared to comet.

I'm playing fire and while defenses is a bit of an issue for me, ember fusillade does decent damage. I'm a little over-leveled but not too crazy. Usually takes 3-5 minutes to kill a boss, not the 15 being stated. Admittedly, I'm basically using 4 socket fusillade and 3 socket firewall on bosses, with occasional fireball w/ unleash + ricochet (act 3 still).
I've been playing Flame Wall + SRS and breezing through the game.
I can't speak for the other skills.
HCSSF is the only way.
So, I dug in fire skills and its worst than we all guessed :

- fireball and firestorm dont trigger "cast on ignite" when you ignite ennemies with the skill. But at the same time, fire wall do it, even its written for cast on ignite "skills that HIT ennemies".
- firebolt, the spell you could have on certain staff, is doing 50% more dmg than a fireball spell, at the same lvl
- a lighting spell (like arc) is doing 50% more average damage than a fire one (fireball for ex). Lvl 10 spells, arc is doing 90 average dmg, and fireball 60 average dmg.


Right now, the only fire build you could see, are about "cast on ..." cause this skill is broken. No CD on proc, some skills that could perma ignite/shock/... comet on it and thats it.

So yeah GGG, have a look at your stat please, and see that your fire spells for most of them are broken. Thank you !
Tried to build around fire skills until end of Act 5 my char lvl 57 and oh man is it horrible... Only skill that deals any sort of dammage is ember fusillade when combined with flame wall and frost wall and even then I'm spending a minute or two just killing rares spamming everything in my arsenal. Firestorm is sort of OK'ish for killing lots of small mobs but overall the damage is just laughable. Respeccing to lightning next and will never come back to fire skills unless they get an absolutely massive boost and rework... As it is right now it's just a waste of time.
