[POE2] Unable to add a friend in crossplay

I'm having some issues trying to add a friend in crossplay. It seems to be related to numbers in the username as i was able to add a random person when i took the numbers out. Friend is getting the same error. In the error message, the numbers in his username show up as underscores. I tried with and without the #xxxx identifier. Error code below

"Unable to add [friends username___#0000] to friends list because: The specified character does not exist."

Anyone else see this and able to resolve?

UPDATE - I was able to add the friend by using the in game character name instead of their username. Since character names are unique, I should have thought of this earlier. Hope it helps someone else.

I'm having the same issue with ps5 and pc friend.

Same issue here. Looks like the PSN player doesn't have the #XXXX visible. He can find it when he logs into the pathofexile.com website but I still can't add him.
