Die at the same time as a quest boss -> Broken quest

In Act 2 at the Halani Gates, you have a side quest called "Forward Command Tents" where you have to defeat a Boss that impales near a corrupted tent and a checkpoint.

I've managed to die when the boss died. He dropped his loot, the game did reset the area and did respawn me at the checkpoint right into a group of mobs.

The Boss loot despawned. The Boss itself no longer respawns, yet at the world screen, the side quest still shows as incomplete.

Reloading the map doesn't help.
