CHRIS please come back!

You made an amazing game in PoE1.
You can still save PoE2.

You do realize that PoE 2 is more in line what Chris eventually wanted to make, yes?

Not even close.
I played in close beta back in 2011. I loved that game (more than actual PoE1 indeed). I also love gauntlet leagues, I played multiprojectile turbo races back in the day, usually play hc ssf, etc. I also like Ruthless. I did races back in early seasons (and with pretty decent results in some indeed, just short of demigod rewards couple times). Im not a casual player, more like a hardcore one, used to hard stuff.

All those modes were all hard but in a good, proper way. PoE 2 is not hard in a good way, and also killed click to move to turned it into a controller/wasd console game.

So no, Im not angry about the difficulty or anything like that. I dont have a problem with fighting bosses for minutes, or one shots or slow pacing. I'm fine with that part.

But this is not even remotely close to Chris's vision of PoE, thats what I meant. This is a console action game with dropped items, not an ARPG.

And this is not a matter of I like it, or you like it, etc. Its just a feeling I have that... this will fail over time. I see most people coming back to PoE1 soon or just moving to next thing.

Blizzard killed the franchise trying to innovate to much and simplifaction going from D2 to D3. This has a huge chance to acomplish the same. You will se in a couple years.

I hope I'm wrong... and if not, please Chris come back.

This is actually funny. You know Chris was the guy who wanted the game to be more like ruthless and now that you got exactly that you call for him?

Im perfectly fine with ruthless man.
And indeed I liked more the harder PoE1, 2012-2015 than the current one which is faster and easiest. Im not talking about that. I indeed love the idea of a hard campaign, but if implemented properly.

I dunno man, just keep playing poe1 rather than trying to turn poe2 into poe1? I don't understand your problem with WASD. It feels way better than imprecise mouse movement of poe1. I'm positive can dodge every exarch ball with this movement scheme.

PoE1 is outdated and clunky, PoE2 is the future of the ARPG genre. You're either stuck in the past or join us in the present.

Some extreme "rose colored glasses" going on here....PoE 1 beta and post-beta was a slogfest of 1hko's, unavoidable stunlocks, kiting (when possible given the limitations of movement), and restarts. Eerily similar to PoE 2. All of Chris' "input" was trying to get POE 1 back to this style of game.

Old PoE was just as difficult as PoE 2, with just as much limited drops and power increases...wrapped in a clunky package of having to use multiple skills to deal damage and being unable to legitimately dodge anything.

I wholeheartedly believe you simply do not remember what it was like, and are mixing up your memory of old PoE with aspects of "new" PoE.
Starting anew....with PoE 2
