Monk Tempest Bell really frustrating to hit
I'm not sure why the Tempest bell doesn't have a target like regular monsters. It feels like at least 60% of the time I throw down the tempest bell my character will prioritize hitting the enemy next to it instead of the bell itself, which just feels extremely shitty and frustrating.
The bell needs a health bar just like when hovering an enemy to attack, that way my character actually locks onto the bell, instead of a nearby enemy. The health bar could just be the duration left on the bell before it's gone. This either gets fixed or the tempest bell is not viable even though its super strong early game. I second this... Temple bell has been... absolutely infuriating to try and play. I even have my skill set to "always attack without moving" and my character would rather jump over the bell and hit mobs on the other side instead of actually swinging at it. The inability to consistently target it has made monk feel like i can't even control the character.

Just use an ability on the bell. I use Ice Strike, works well, you don't need a target.

" Are you saying you're okay with it being hard to hit because there is a work around? That is not great logic. The bell is very hard to hit, and you shouldn't have to find a work around for it function as it should normally function. You know it takes to farm? It takes BRASS BALLS to farm items and currency. Go and do likewise gents. Currency is out there. You pick it up, it's yours. You don't, I got no sympathy for you.

It's easy to hit on WASD, probably monks strongest ability, deletes alot of bosses.

Not everyone can use WASD. I'm a lefty with joint issues in my hands. Click to move is the only way I can play an isometric game. And the bell sucks due to it not being targetable by an attack. I can only hit is if something is right nest to it. Which isn't fun.

Ive been playing on wasd and its still an issue. If there's a boss with a big enough hitbox, it can aim your attacks away from the bell slightly, even if the bell is right on top of them. Functionally, the bell was so unreliable it was almost useless for the act 2 ascension trial boss.

+1
The auto aim also works against killing palm sometimes, in a mob group it focus on the closest mob instead of the glowing one you're aiming at |
|
" As another workaround - position yourself near the bell, then hold Shift and attack it |
|
As some people have noted the current use of the bell (while powerful) is near impossible to take advantage of with many skills either due to targeting or mob hit box overshadowing.
There are many mechanics like the bell where one has to build up stacks then use the burst skill and when using the burst skill fails it just feels horrible. Tempest bell needs some tuning to make it more usable to all playstyles be it point/click or wasd or controller for the betterment of the game as a whole. |
