Help with bad lighting

I'm having trouble getting the lighting right in the game. I've played around with all the graphics settings, and haven't found a combination that fixes it.

It's hard to tell at that size, so right click and open image in new tab. You can see, the white glow around objects is what's bothering me. Makes things look grainy. Easiest to see in screenshots of char screen. It also makes rainy scenes look particularly horrendous (image 4), but it's hard to tell in a still shot.
Any advice on how to fix is much appreciated, thanks!
