POE2 Suggestion: Support Gem Compatibility inside the Skill Menu
POE2
Pressing G opens the Skill Menu When using Support Gems, skill compatibility is only visible when the gem is in your inventory, and there is no current way to view the list of equipped skills that support gem is compatible with inside the Skill Menu itself. Pressing ALT to inspect the support gem could bring up that menu, as it's function is currently limited to pinning the gem open to read and hover keyword text. Seeing that any support gem can be placed into any skill with no compatibility warnings (I had Double Barrel on a Crossbow Shot), including when the support gem doesn't work with the skill, seeing the compatibility in some way in that screen would be really handy. It may also be helpful to put the compatibility menu in the gemcutting menu for support gems, to verify which gems any given support will work with.
This is especially useful if using the All Gems section of the support gem gemcutting menu, as all possible gems are available but may or may not be useful. Some support gems I like are not offered by default in the gemcutting menu, but there's no final check to make sure the support gem I want works with the specialized skill gem use case not offered by default. |

Turning off the Show Recommended Gems feature does not help. Double Barrel is offered to Crossbow Shot while SHOW is disabled, even though it is incompatible. The only gems excluded are those that are already in use.
The option to directly engrave and place an incompatible support gem into a skill in the gemcutting menu seems like an issue, especially for new players. |

The compatibility menu for support gems in inventory is also missing default skills, like the default crossbow attack.
This is true for support gems that can be tested to work with those skills. The default skill is supportable for some; but does not appear as such in the inventory compatibility menu |

I also don't understand why different skills can't use the same support gems. There was no problem with it in PoE, why does it have to change?

Yes please add this .. I don't like rolling the dice on making support gems as a new player and having wasted it.. when it is not compatible .. thanks and yes

yes, that please... in any shape or form, as long as we can avoid building incompatible support gems
