Been 9 years - few questions!

So I last played POE in 2015. Just played through Act 1 on POE2 on Monk and had an absolute blast! Only died 5 or 6 times and given my time off I consider that pretty good. 3 questions:

I am trying to get an idea of how I wanna build and I see on the tree a jewel socket spot. Will I need an item to get past that node?

Crit mechanics. If I have 10% on my weapon and get a 10% crit chance node, is my crit chance now 11% or 20% ?

Thanks in advance. Gonna ice/chaos a Chayula Monk and see what happens. So far - this is fun as hell.

Maybe POE2 change it so not sure...but are Exalted Orbs and Chaos orbs still the main currencies for player trading?

Crit mechanics: Assuming crit mods function the same in PoE 2 as in PoE 1, then it would be 11%. 10% chance to crit * (1 + .10 increase).

Currency: GGG stated they can't predict what the default currency will be. It'll probably be Chaos and Divine though. Oh, Divine Orbs replaced Exalted Orbs for trading.

Another question I just thought of - pathing through the ascendency nodes. Is it unlimited resources there or will you have to pick and choose what nodes to get in there.
