Unable to activate aura granted by an item

Item grants lvl3 discipline.
Discipline appears in G tab.
I cannot allocate the skill, trying to activate it from G tab also but can't seem to find a way. People tried to help me on global chat, nothing seems to work. Some saying it should auto activate, it doesnt (pretty easy to check ES)

Seems like something simple in POE1 has been changed into something unintuitive.
Can someone give me secret to activate the skill ?

mine automatically activated, but when i summmoned too many minions it used up all my spirit so my aura deactivated.

i can see a blue aura around ur feet tho so looks like the aura is already activated and working? disc only works on ur allies btw not you, so u wont see any es increase from it.

Did you try and right-click it in the skill tab?
There should be a tooltip advising you to do so.

same issue. could not put in skill bar. It does not activate automatically. Did you manage to do that?

For me it started working when I assigned it to a weapon set from its extended skill panel. (From clicking the arrow next to the DPS number)

It only applies to minions and and activated automatically after I summon minion. Minion feets become blue.
