POE 2 Crashes My PC After Splashscreen
Hi, so here's my PC Spec. Rx 7900 XTX with A R7 5800x3D. so with these specs, I'm wondering why the game keeps crashing my entire pc. I've ran multiple games on it to see if it was a problem with the computer itself. and I even verified the files and reinstalled the game multiple times. but for some reason, it keeps crashing my pc. I can't get past the boot-up screen. I read different subreddits, most with RTX 4080 and 90's that are going through the same problem as me. For clarification, the game does not crash to desktop, it basically shuts my pc off completely.

Are you using Windows 24H2? If you're not sure, go into the Windows "Settings" app, then click on "System", then "About", and look under "Windows Specifications" to see what version you're on.
If you're on 24H2, see here. It's an issue that is highly prevalent in systems that use Windows 24H2 with an AMD CPU and/or an Nvidia GPU. Last edited by Zarasi#7652 on Dec 7, 2024, 5:26:56 AM

I have the same CPU and GPU combo: 5800X3D and RX7900XTX.
Win 10 22H2 AMD Adrenalin latest drivers 24.12.1 Same issue like OP - with DirectX12, after about 20-30 min of playing, the game either crashes the PC, somethimes just crashes to desktop. In DirectX11 mode works without crashing. |

" There are 3-4 different errors displayed on blue screens on different occasions. Sometimes it crashes so hard that Windows Automatic Repair is started on next boot. I'll look up Event Viewer when I get home and report back. |

Also having complete PC Freezes on loadscreens - no outs have to completely hard reset my PC

The error 0x000000000003b699 appears multiple times. This happens with DX12. DX11 works without crashing, but causes stuttering due to on-the-fly shader compilation. My system spec for clarity: * Windows 10 22H2 (build 19045.5131) * AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D * 32GB DDR4 RAM * AMD RX 7900XTX * AMD Adrenalin drivers 24.12.1 (latest version; released 05.12.2024.) * Steam version of the game.

I have the same issue, but only when I stream. I'm also using a 7900XTX GPU, and I have a Ryzen 9 5900X CPU.
It basically switches off my PC but the power LED remains on, weird... The crash happens a few seconds after I start stream, regardless of what screen I am on. I thought it might be exceeding the safe thermal boundaries of my GPU but that is not the case because it happens while the GPU is still cold. If I use FSR upscaling, then it does not happen, but then you notice the GFX fidelity difference. I'd prefer to play without upscaling since the GPU can handle the load. It does not seem to be a driver issue because I updated to the latest version of the AMD driver (24.12.1) and it still happened. (I was initially on 24.8.1) No other game does this so I suspect it is only PoE 2 that has this issue. I'm using DX12, and have not tested it with DX11 yet, but if I did try DX11 and the issue is resolved, then that is a workaround and not a fix. EDIT: I forgot to point out that this only happens when streaming. I am using OBS with AMD Hardware H264 encoding. Last edited by stuyvenstein#6647 on Dec 10, 2024, 9:55:49 AM

I'm also having the same problem.
Sometimes when changing maps or teleporting the game the computer crashes. I can only turn it back on by forcing it to turn off. It's complicated, I hope it gets resolved quickly. |
